GroenLinks wants to invest in Rijswijk, with our eyes on the long-term future of our city.
We will do this by focussing on four important themes.
- Investing in people
GroenLinks wants everyone to have equal opportunities.
We will take a broad approach when it comes to education and opportunities for all children. Problems such as poverty should never be an obstacle to participate.
We will actively fight for accessibility, diversity and your rights as a citizen. The city should always offer support to anyone who needs it. We believe that compassion and empathy, and listening to others, should have priority over strict rules. After all, preventing problems from a place of trust is much better than leaving people in the cold.
- Investing in housing
There is a big housing crisis in the Netherlands and Rijswijk is no exception. GroenLinks sees housing as a fundamental human right. It should not be a way for investors to make money.
We want to make sure that everyone, not just the rich, has a place to live. This means that we will give priority to social housing, push landlords to make their property sustainable, and create flexible housing such as reconstructed office buildings and tiny houses.
- Investing in nature and climate
GroenLinks wants everyone in Rijswijk to have a green neighbourhood. We will take good care of our nature and parks, and will always strive to create a greener city. We will take real action to make the air we breathe cleaner. We will help citizens who want to make their home more sustainable.
This way, we take steps in making Rijswijk more adaptable to a changing climate, and will reduce our CO2 footprint significantly.
- Investing in a sustainable economy
A city with a green, circular and energy-neutral economy. That is our vision for making Rijswijk future-proof. We will support companies in their transition to a sustainable future, and will promote Rijswijk as an attractive spot for green entrepreneurs. The city itself will have an examplary role: we will buy locally, circular, and where possible, plant-based.
